How local ranking works
Three signals, in this order.
Proximity is where the searcher is standing. You cannot change it, which is why a single office cannot own all thirty-two boroughs in the map pack.
Prominence is how established you look: reviews, citations, coverage, brand searches. This is the one most firms ignore and the one that moves furthest.
Relevance is whether your profile and pages actually match the search.
